This is the result of an experiment I had one night while drinking a beer on the porch. I had just been gifted a bottle of this purple Empress 1908 Gin and I wanted to try it, but there I was already drinking a beer. In just minutes I had a mixture of the beer, the gin and lemon juice which suddenly turned a post yard work porch beer into a sophisticated party sipper with a distinct flavor. Fun fact too, when citrus hits the gin, it turns from purple to pink like some magic witch potion.
Let’s talk about this gin. It’s magic. The gin is made with eight organic botanicals and a non-GMO corn spirit as the base. Butterfly pea blossom lends the spirit its deep color. Now why the gin may be a little difficult to find at just any liquor store, you can kind of recreate the color and flavor using Butterfly pea blossoms and making a tea that you combine with your favorite gin.
Enough chatter. Let’s dive in!
