Ah mid August…Where you can taste sweet fall on the horizon but it’s still blazing hot outside. What you need is a gateway drink to satisfy your need for autumn, but give you just enough of brain freeze to forget your troubles.

I suggest this Bourbon Pumpkin Pie Milkshake topped with double the ice cream treats (pumpkin ice cream sandwich from grocery store and ginger pumpkin cone from Trader Joes) for a little razzle dazzle. Vanilla ice cream, pumpkin puree, crumbled graham crackers, pumpkin pie spice…..and bourbon make up this front porch sipping, fall dreaming delight.

Just want to dive in!

Not a bourbon drinker? Try a fall whiskey or spiced rum or just omit the alcohol all together especially if making a batch for kids.
